Huge crowds packed the streets of Liverpool in a sea of red flying flags, chanting and singing in the sunshine.

Having lifted the FA Cup and League Cup, pushing Man City all the way in the Premier League and despite defeat to Real Madrid an estimated 750,000 supporters turned out to show their love for the team.

Liverpool only lost four matches in their epic 63 game season, narrowly missing out on the Premier League title by a single point, but twice enjoying success at Wembley.

Liverpool’s players danced alongside the DJ Calvin Harris as their open-top bus was met with fireworks, flares and flags on a raucous lap of honour around the city, where fans hung from traffic lights as helicopters hovered above as the buses made their way through the 8 mile route

Fan with flares and banners lined the streets of Merseyside, offering their team the perfect pick-up, as glum expressions soon turned back into smiles.

Manager Jurgen Klopp was stunned by the turn out and told supporters exactly how he felt.

“There’s no club in the world where it happens that you lose the Champions League final the night before and the people arrive here in the shape they are, the mood they are, absolutely outstanding,” he said.

“This is the best club in the world, I don’t care what other people think.”

Klopp was then thanked for his efforts and said: “You are welcome, I love you all, and I’m not drunk, not a little bit, just emotional!”

The superstar DJ, who recently got engaged to presenter Vick Hope, was brought on-board to spin tracks for the Reds and their fans as the double-decker snaked around Merseyside on Sunday.

Liverpool fans pack city streets to welcome heroes home along the 13-kilometer (8-mile) stretch of the parade route — which took almost 4 hours to cover
