Liverpool 1-1 Tottenham

Liverpool draw at home to Tottenham

Liverpool suffered a blow to their Premier League title hopes despite coming from behind to earn a 1-1 draw with Champions League-chasing Tottenham at Anfield on Saturday.

The Red’s threw everything at Spurs, and Spurs threw everything back. The Anfield atmosphere was bouncing on the back of the UCL Semi final win.

Luis Diaz’s deflected strike cancelled out Son Heung-Min’s opener with just over 15 minutes remaining, but despite an attacking onslaught late on, Jurgen Klopp’s side couldn’t find a desperately sought winner.

It was only the second time in 15 league matches that Liverpool have not taken all three points — the other occasion being a draw against City last month — and the consequences could be severe for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Liverpool dominated possession but Tottenham dug deep defensively and rode their luck at times. Conte’s Tottenham certainly frustarted Liverppol. Maybe the Villarreal game mid week was a factor as the players looked lethargic towards the last 10 mins

With the margin of error tiny, City now look strong favourites to retain their crown. Although its still not over. The Reds need to continue and fight for this Premier League title. Liverpool have just three more games to play in this race, resuming at Villa Park on Tuesday
